• TRADITIONAL METHODS
• PURE, CLEAN SEAWATER
• NATURAL HEAT FROM TROPICAL SUN
This artisan salt is a moist, coarse grain, naturally pink sea salt from the pure seawaters of Pangasinan in the Philippines. It is hand-harvested, sustainable, eco-friendly, and artisan-produced. Harvested only four months of the year without the aid of machinery or fossil fuels, this salt represents hope for a better future for the local community and awareness to culinary enthusiasts and chefs everywhere of a nearly forgotten product. Crafting this salt is an incredibly labor-intensive process. Producing a flavorful, quality salt requires generations of experience, clean seawater and natural heat from the sun. Today fewer than 50% of salt producers remain holding the knowledge of traditional methods of production.
This salt derives its natural pink color from the sugpo shrimp. An appealing briny interplay of flavors support a sharp primal taste spurred by a firm lively saline structure. Its crunchy texture from hollow, pyramid crystals stimulate the palate and imparts a sense of ineffable firmness. This is a full-bodied salt, yet it wears its weight gracefully—a true flavor enhancer for fowl, fin and swine, regardless of preparation.
